The Shanghai Collection represents FICUS Atelier’s ongoing exploration of Eastern aesthetics. Taking Shanghai as its point of departure, the collection reconsiders the distinct expressions of Eastern and Western traditions in textiles and design, seeking a contemporary dialogue between the two. Even in an age defined by efficiency, every piece continues to be handcrafted by traditional Chinese tailors.

Inspired by the classic Chinese front-opening jacket, the Shanghai Jacket preserves a distinctly Eastern sensibility while introducing an understated ease and practicality for modern life. Crafted from naturally textured pure cotton, the fabric offers a soft hand with just enough structure to define the silhouette. Traditional knotted buttons and curved patch pockets carry forward the language of Chinese dress, while the original raw selvedge at the hem lends an effortless character to the clean silhouette. It can be worn alone as a shirt or layered as a lightweight jacket for everyday wear.
