The Shanghai Collection is FICUS Atelier’s ongoing exploration of Eastern aesthetics.
Beginning in Shanghai, we revisit the distinct expressions of East and West through textile and design, seeking a way of fusion that feels relevant today. Even in an age shaped by efficiency, each piece is still made by hand by traditional Chinese tailors.

The Shanghai Jacket draws inspiration from the classic Chinese tailored jacket. While preserving its Eastern spirit, it quietly brings in the ease and practicality of modern life. This navy jacket is crafted from pure silk, whose delicate lustre shifts naturally with the light, lending subtle depth to its clean silhouette. Silk’s characteristic lightness and fluid drape soften the weight and formality often associated with traditional Chinese garments, while the Mandarin collar, frog fastenings and patch pockets retain a clear sense of Eastern identity. Smooth and exceptionally lightweight, it can be worn on its own or effortlessly incorporated into everyday wardrobes as a light outer layer.
